Frogs
Inspired by black, Oriental lacquer, these etchings depict frogs among lily pads.
The purple ink is mixed with silver pigments and the orange ink is mixed with bronze. Therefore the purple shifts to violet and the orange from a somber to a brilliant tone in different lighting. With less light these images look almost abstract. Black Arches paper has a matte surface, but the frogs are painted with a shiny, clear acrylic “varnish” for accentuation.
Signed and embossed with the studio chop.

State I, edition of 50
